Love Yourself This Valentines

14 February 2016

Happy Valentines day. I hope you have all been spoilt either by a loved one or yourself (MAC Viva Glam Ariana happy valentines to me). Obviously it doesn't need to be expensive to make you feel good. A cuppa wrapped up in bed with a fluffy blanket, maybe with your loved one or your dog (which is clearly the same thing).

Today is the day for self love. You're awesome and deserve it. You don't need anyone else to make you feel special. I did a post last year on putting yourself first and just taking a break and this one is kind of similar. Do what makes you happy

- Buy the extravagant coffee or make a hot chocolate with all the whipped cream and marshmallows

- Have a dance. Blast that music and bust out your best & worst dance moves. Belt out that song that you're don't know all the lyrics to.

- Treat yourself to that lipstick you've wanted for ages, you deserve it

- Have a lie in and don't feel guilty about not doing anything

- Watch those cheesy movies that you hate to admit you love (everyone has that cheesy film they love)

- Eat that cake. You know you want to. Cake is delicious

- Stay in your pyjamas all day. I mean I do most of the time anyway

- Or put on those gorgeous clothes you never get to wear. Have a fashion show for yourself and glam yourself up.

- Whack on that makeup. Nothing makes me feel as fierce as some banging wings and a bold lip

- Take all the selfies. Good selfies are good for the soul and I am a huge believer in taking as many as possible. Post them on Instagram. Can't choose between 4 fabulous angles? Post them all. You're flawless.

- Use that gorgeous smelling bath bomb (unless baths make you die like me then maybe just sit in the shower for an hour and use that shower gel you try to save)

- Cut out the people that make you feel like crap on social media. You don't need that negativity in your life.

- Buy yourself that gorgeous bunch of flowers (don't forget to instagram them), Who says someone has to buy them for you?

- Go for a drive just to get out the house and see new places.

- Check out that cute book shop/cafe you always pass & never get to go in

This post doesn't just apply to Valentines day. If you're ever feeling crappy and down just think of one thing you love doing and that makes you smile and do it.

What makes you smile?

#LoveIsAtoZ with Zazzle

11 February 2016

As you guys probably know (unless like me you never have a clue what day it is) it is Valentines day soon. You know that day before you can buy all the discounted chocolate. Zazzle contacted me and asked if I wanted to do a post. Being single and all that I never celebrate Valentines (but if you wanna send me chocolate I'll gladly celebrate). Anyway when I saw the post was nothing to do with romance I was game. #LoveIsAtoZ is all about celebrating the many other types of love and spreading that warm feeling.

The task was to spread the love on Valentines day with tokens of appreciation for the special people in your life. This includes the Aunties that buy you that lipstick you've been lusting after, Grandparents that give you socks and biscuits so you don't get cold or hungry, friends that hold your hair after a messy night out and parents that put up with your crap, feed you and do your laundry.

My parents are the first people I thought about when I read the email. They do so much for me and I would be lost without them. They are my carers, my best friends and my life line. My mum is a star. She works full time and cares for two disabled children and never puts herself first. My dad works away but I know he's always there for me and he makes an excellent secretary. He makes all of my phone calls because he knows that they make my anxiety go through the roof. They are my rocks. If you're reading this I love you.

Now you may Speak Mug* - This one is for my dad. He is just like me. We both queue at the kettle in the morning and can't start life without a cuppa. We both get grumpy if we are forced to leave without our hot beverage of choice.

Love you to the Moon and Back Mug* - As kids my mum always used to say this and then we'd compete saying that we loved her to the moon and back x infinity. This was our bed time ritual and as soon as I saw this it brought back so many good memories.

Though She Be Little, She is Fierce Pink Gold Poster* Out of the group of my friends the majority of us are short. Massive sorry to that one friend who was actual human size who we made look like a giant every night out. We may all be small but we are definitely fierce. We've survived a lot and looked cute doing it. I love all my friends and there is so much I couldn't have got through without them. We may all now live miles apart but we will always have each others backs.

Massive love for the times they sat up with me at 3am waiting for a doctor, the nights we sat & ate toast drunk waiting for the spinning to stop, the time we were the only ones that dressed up for a fancy dress party, all the ugly photos, putting up with my weird body, all the mcdonalds runs with no judgement and so much more.

I haven't taken these pictures because 2 of the products are held up in production & postage and I could not for the life of me get a decent shot of the vest. I got angry and gave up

Personalised Compact Mirror* This is another one for my mum. She's always moaning that she doesn't have a mirror. I thought there was no better mirror than one with my face on it. You're welcome mum. There are so many shapes and you can personalise them in anyway you want. Text, any image. The possibilities are endless and they are the perfect gift for so many people.

Leg Day Vest* Time for a shout out to my brother. He can be the biggest pain in the ass but he's my pain in the ass. We are so close and I can't imagine not pissing about with him. He's always there to cheer me up when I feel like crap. He 100% understands what I'm going through with my body as he's in the same boat and we support each other through the tough days and the long nights.

This vest is because of one of those winding each other up things. Ollie randomly lost the use of his legs 2 years ago. He now uses a wheelchair all the time. Because of this his legs obviously don't get used and have wasted away. He's also massively into sport, gym etc. so I always joke that he shouldn't have skipped leg day. Plus he kind of looks like the drawing, sorry ol. My mum is more loving and calls him chopstick legs. We're such a caring family.

Face Shit Makeup Bag* This is one for me. I'm an extremely special person to myself. You've got to show yourself love and what better day to do it than Valentines day.

Zazzle is the perfect place to get your tokens of appreciation because everything is customisable and can be made perfect for those special people in your life.

Who do you want to show the love this Valentines day?

Stila Eternal Love Liquid Lipstick Set

4 February 2016

If you don't know Sarah from Sarah in Wonderland then your bank balance is probably much happier than mine. Seriously she's such an enabler. However, she also has excellent taste in makeup and always knows what will suit me. She's my go to when I don't know what colour lipstick to buy and you should totally check out her blog because it's magical.

Sarah told me I needed the Stila Eternal Love Liquid Lipstick set and she was so right. This set satisfies all three of my loves. Nude, Red and Dark. They are all perfect and I'm obsessed with them. Also the packaging is just too pretty.

They feel super creamy going on and they are easy to work with. Unlike some matte liquid lipsticks these don't feel super dry and cracky (totally a thing) on the lips. They are some of the least drying matte lipsticks I've tried, which is a massive bonus for me as my lips are always dry. I do tend to use a scrub before wearing them but they don't cling to dry patches which I loove about them.

The colour pay-off of these lippies is beyond amazing and the lasting power is incredible, like 6-7ish hours incredible. I'm so lazy when it comes to touching up lipsticks that this is a massive plus for me. Also another plus is they smell amazzzing. They smell like cake. What more could you ask for?

They're also pretty good for not transferring as I demonstrated by kissing my brothers hand. He then smacked me in the mouth to prove they do transfer. So you're good for kissing but not for fighting. Obviously they do wear away in the centre if you eat particularly messy/oily foods or drink a billion cups of tea but they don't crack or crumble when you reapply so it's all good.

I think baci is probably my favourite and is now my go to nude and it's like nothing I own. However this is closely followed by ricco as it's just such a gorgeous dark lip colour and I'm all about that fierce look.

I don't think you can buy this set any more but you can buy the colours individually from the Stila website and you totally should because I said so.

I definitely want to try some more Stila products and will be getting some more liquid lips as they are just amazing.

What are your favourite lip colours from Stila?
What other products should I be trying?

Things That Make Me Smile

2 February 2016

You may have noticed a massive lack of posts on my blog recently even though I said this was gonna be my year to get my shit together. Turns out my body and my mind had other ideas. My body has been in one huge flare since I can't even remember when and it just dragged my mental health down with it. I've lacked the energy and motivation to do anything so my blog got abandoned.

However I have decided to stick 2 fingers up to my body and my MH and try and do as much with my blog as I can. I have so many ideas for posts and I'm excited.

To start off I'm going to do a list off all the things that have made me smile recently to remind myself on the bad days.

1. Dyeing my hair again - There's just something about super bright freshly dyed hair that makes me smile so much. The compliments don't hurt either

2. New Socks
- I went into Primark just to just buy socks and pyjamas. I'm all about that cosy life

3. Cute jewellery on sale - If you follow me on twitter you may have seen that I dislocated a hip moving too fast to check out the Boho Moon £5 sale but it was totally worth it. The two midi rings I got are beyond gorgeous and I'm in love.

4. Tea - Nothing beats a nice hot cuppa curled up in a fluffy blanket with cute socks on

5. Good books - I've discovered a new author that I am loving at the moment and I just can't put his books down. I love getting sucked into a book. Review to come

6. Weird group chats - I seriously have some of the best and weirdest friends ever. We have some of the strangest conversations but are always there for each other and provide so much love.

7. The sun - I hate winter. There is honestly nothing I hate more than being cold and wet. I've invested in many blanket scarves & stolen a coat from my brother for this very reason. The fact that I actually saw the sun and had to wear sunglasses this week genuinely made me so happy. Shame it was still cold.

What's made you smile this week?

Also is there anything you particularly want to see on the blog?
I've already had requests for some outfit posts, especially wheelchair outfits, so that is in the works if I can rope a family member into being my photographer.
Let me know.
