Pink Hair Don't Care

27 February 2015

I should currently be engrossed in writing my dissertation but procrastination. Plus I'm really fed up of writing the words urinary tract and antibiotic resistance.

Anyway, if you follow me on twitter or instagram you will know by the huge amount of selfies I posted that I finally gave in to the urge and dyed my hair bright pink and oh my god I love it. I have no idea why I didn't do it sooner. I suppose I gradually worked my way up to it with having pink, purple and turquoise underlayers but I couldn't resist any longer. It's possible that I was born to have pink hair.

These are all selfies with my crappy iPhone front facing camera so apologies for the quality. I may get around to being less lazy and actually taking a picture on my camera but who knows.

I decided that as I'm graduating soon and may have to have more normal hair colours and pretend to maybe be an adult I should get it out my system but now I want to try all the colours. My poor hair.

So I used Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL Ultra Brights in Shocking Pink. I have stupidly thick hair, so much hair, that I ended up using 3 boxes but it was worth it. So far as I am super lazy when it comes to washing my hair I have only actually had to wash it twice since dyeing it and it hasn't faded noticeably, as you can see in the last picture.

The only downside I have found to having pink hair is that when my hair gets everywhere, as it does, I can't blame anyone else. Pink hair in the mash is probably gonna be mine. Also my dad keeps telling me off for staining the shower curtain and shower and towels and my jumper necks and anything I come into contact with, but I mean is that really a downside. Most things look better in hot pink.

So what do you think?

May try purple purple next.

Self Love

14 February 2015

Happy Valentine's day you gorgeous lot. I told my self I wasn't going to write a valentine's post but as I'm struggling recently with a lot of pain I though a post on self love was important.

I'm taking today as a complete rest day (apart from this post of course). I had a lie in, I plan on staying in my pjs all day (nothing really new there), letting myself eat some junk food which hopefully wont make me feel too ill and watching all the kids films. I need this day to not feel guilty about not doing any work and let my crappy body rest.

So some helpful steps for an amazing day.

1. Put on your comfiest clothes, probably pyjamas

2. Have a delicious cuppa

3. Eat whatever food your craving. Diets don't count today

4. Make a pillow fort/nest and get super cosy. Maybe make yourself a blanket cocoon

5. Watch your favourite films. As many as possible. Or start/finish that book you've been wanting to read for ages. Or do some colouring in. The possibilities are endless.

6. Have a day off from doing work/ cleaning whatever you need to do. One day wont kill you.

7. Maybe have a nap. Nap's make everything better.

8. If you need to get out the house you could go to your favourite place. I always love going to the beach.

9. Relax. Let your mind and body rest. It probably needs it

Just do whatever you want and don't let yourself feel guilty about it. You need to take a day for you every now and then and if your idea of time for yourself is getting dressed up and going out then by all means bust out the heels and whack on your brightest lipstick. Just have fun and take time for yourself. This is me giving you permission to put yourself first and relax.

Lots of love

Charmed Ivy Necklaces

12 February 2015

I'm a massive fan of Charmed Ivy Jewellery and did a post on a some other necklaces I have from them a while back which you can find here. Can you tell I have a weakness for necklaces.
So here's what I have treated myself to recently.

Live Your Dream Necklace £4

I actually only picked this necklace up as an afterthought to boost my total so I could use a discount voucher but I haven't actually taken it off since it arrived. I love it so much. It's so simple and goes with everything and the 20" chain is the perfect length

Moonlit Galaxy Necklace £3.50

As soon as I saw this necklace on the Charmed Ivy Instagram I knew I had to have it. I am obsessed with the moon/stars/galaxies etc. and it's blue so it was fate. I'm not a massive fan of the chain on this as it's quite short but I'm just going to switch it to one of my longer chains and it'll be prefect.

Charmed Ivy are currently offering 20% off for valentines which is running until Saturday with the code 'Cupid' so if you've had your eye on anything now's the time to treat yourself.
