Book Review// Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben

5 October 2016

I have read so much recently and I love it. At uni I fell out of love with reading because I had to read so much for my course it wasn't really enjoyable anymore. I'm glad to say I have definitely rekindled my love for it now. The last 4 books I've read, I've finished in 3 days each. It feels good. I recently read Harlan Cobens Tell No One and loved it so when I saw this one I had to pick it up.

Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben

"If your husband was murdered
And you were a witness
How do you explain it when he appears on your nanny cam?
You thought you trusted him.
Now you can't even trust yourself.

Dark secrets and a terrifying hunt for the truth lie at the heart of this gripping new thriller."

Reading the blurb of this one it sounded similar to Tell No One. Husband/wife was murdered and then later mysteriously show up on camera. Are they alive? What the hell is going on? Who can be trusted? The blurb may have sounded similar but these books are completely different.

I finished this book at 2am the other night because I could not put it down. I kept thinking I was on the ball for figuring out different parts of the puzzle but I still wasn't expecting the end and how it all fit together. I read some reviews that said they hated the ending and it let the book down but I really enjoyed it. I loved trying to work out how all the events slotted together and who could be trusted. The ending kinda made me want to cry a bit. I also loved that PTSD was discussed and included but didn't make the main character any less badass.

I'm definitely a fan of Harlan and I recently picked up another one of his books in Tesco so I'm looking forward to reading more of his work.
