Birthday Lust List

28 April 2016

I'm not feeling that great today so I thought I'd do some online window shopping and actually get a post up as my schedule clearly went tits up recently. It's my birthday in 12 days (I think. I dunno maths is hard and my brain hurts). So I mean if you wanted to get me anything a pony would make me very happy ;).

Anyway here's what I'm lusting after at the moment.

Birthday Lust List

Nashville Series 3 - I started watching Nashville on Amazon Prime and I'm addicted and now I need to see series 3. Who knew I was such a fan of country music? Its all just so dramatic

Little Boy Blue by M. J Aldridge - After recently discovering this author I am a huuuge fan. Seriously the Helen series is so good and I just need the next one in my life. If you are a crime thriller fan definitely check them out. I should have a review up soon.

NCIS series 1-8 - I've never been able to watch these in order. I only get to catch the re runs occasionally but I am obsessed with NCIS LA and really want to get into this one too. Abbey is just so cool.

Lily-Flame Fairy Dust Candle - I did a whole Lust list dedicated to these candles, last week maybe? They just all sound so amazing and the tins are adorable. I think Fairy Dust is the one I need in my life most though.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Perversion - I've heard so many good things about this eyeliner and why don't I own it yet? Although I did try to buy it twice but both times there was no staff in Debenhams to actually sell anything so I gave up and left in a grump

Urban Decay Ink For Eyes - As you know I am a massive liquid eyeliner junkie. Always rocking some wings, even for wheelchair basketball, I can't help it. Its an addiction. Anyways I'm always looking for eyeliner that is easy to apply, blacker than my soul and lasts through naps so I want to give this one a whirl.

Lush Cup O'Coffee Exfoliating Mask - If you follow me on twitter you may have been witness to me ranting about my crappy skin recently. I cannot find a foundation that doesn't make me look like a freakin crocodile as it cracks and goes all scaly and gross. My skin seems to be drier than the desert at the mo and it is getting me down so I want this to scrub away my scales and make me happy again.

Lush Ultrabland Facial Cleanser - Heard good things about this cleanser so I wanna give it a whirl and make my skin vaguely human again

Bohomoon Reign Ring - How pretty is this ring? I think rings have to be my favourite accessory and Im usually wearing at least 6. I love Bohomoons jewellery its all just so gorgeous. I could spend a fortune on there.

Clogau Love Spoon Ring - If you saw my Clogau Lust List you will know I am in love with them. I have their charm bracelet and a locket so I feel like I need a ring in my collection. Serious heart eyes at this one

Maleficent Print - Now that I finally have all my furniture in I can concentrate on adding the little things and I need some prints in my house. I am in love with Maleficent, she's just such a badass

Maleficent Pop! Vinyl Figure by Funko - As I said, lil bit obsessed with Maleficent but how cute is this Pop vinyl figure.

Maleficent Watercolour Print - This print is just so gorgeous and would look so cute in my bedroom

What are you lusting after at the moment?

Film// The Jungle Book

26 April 2016

When I first saw that they were remaking The Jungle Book I was outraged. How can you redo one of the best Disney films? Also I don't really get this whole remaking the classics thing that is happening at the moment but that doesn't stop me spending my money on every single one of them. I cant help it. I have to see them all. I absolutely loved Maleficent. Seriously its amazing. However I was a little bit disappointed by Cinderella, minus that gorgeous dress which I need in my life.
I only went to see this film because everyone on Twitter was raving about it. I was still sceptical but they were so right. It is amazing

The CGI is incredible. It was so good that it seriously confused my eyeballs, it looked so real. Also I need those wolf pups in my life. Beyond adorable. King Louie however is slightly terrifying. I would not mess with him.

I love the fact that they kept the best songs in it. Obvs The Bare necessities had to be in it and I wanna be like you is kind of in it but slightly more intimidating.

The storyline is along similar lines in that Shere Khan is after Mowgli but there are some differences so you don't always know what's coming. Scarlett Johansson plays Kaa perfectly and I cannot think of anyone more suited for the role of Shere Khan than Idiris Elba. His voice just adds to the villainous nature of the terrifying tiger.  Also lets just take a moment to admire how incredible Neel Sethi (Mowgli) is.

This film gives so many emotions. I nearly shed a tear but didn't want to ruin my eyeliner but its okay because Baloo added all the comedy needed. Annnd I preferred the ending to this version.

This definitely exceeded my expectations and I am so glad.

Seriously if you couldn't decide whether to watch this you need to go

Karma Se7en Body Jewellery

20 April 2016

I'm a huge fan of piercings and I currently have 5 in my right ear, 3 in my left and 1 in my nose. I've been looking for some new studs for my tragus and helix for a while now because I'm terrified of losing the only ones I own. Karma Se7en kindly sent me some gorgeous pieces to put my mind at ease and I'm in love.

I really love the packaging of K7 products. I love that fact that each item comes in a plastic pot with a screw lid because now I have somewhere safe to put all my earrings when I have to take them out to play wheelchair basketball. Genius. Also great for taking jewellery on holiday if you are as indecisive as me.
How gorgeous is this Blue crystal triple helix stud*? It makes it look like I have even more piercings which is always a good thing. It has a ball to screw on the back and is so comfy to wear. Plus it looks awesome. I might have to get some of the other colours. You can check out all of the info and different style earrings you can get for your helix here

Rose gold nose ring* (1mm). I mean it had to be done really. I'm not normally a massive fan of rose gold and I don't really get the hype but I am so in love with this. I haven't taken it out since it landed on my doorstep and it looks gorgeous. It's going to look so good when I finally get a tan.

I desperately needed a spare tragus stud because I am always losing the ball off the end of mine. It somehow seems to fall off on its own & when I try and put it back on it always pings across the room. I'm surprised I haven't lost the whole bar yet.

This 9ct gold & CZ tragus stud* is so sparkly and gorgeous. My old one was just a boring plain silver bar and I need sparkle in my life. The clear bioflex stem of this one makes it super comfy and the back is then invisibleish. Its also perfect for those who are allergic to metals. There is also no ball to screw on which makes life easier. The stone has a gold stem on which slots into the plastic. I did however underestimate how difficult it would be to slot something into clear plastic. I had to whack out the magnified side of my mirror. I still prefer it to the balls though.

They have so much gorgeous jewellery for all types of piercings and they also have helpful information about the different piercings on their site. There's a price range for everyone and everything is so pretty. I want it all. I would definitely recommend checking them out.

I already have a list of more that I want to buy

Spectrum Brushes

18 April 2016

Every mermaid, unicorn loving person needs these super magical brushes in their life. Whenever I saw these on twitter or instagram I always assumed that they would be super expensive because look at all the pretty. When I actually went for a browse on the Spectrum collections site I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable they are. I now want to buy ALL the brushes. I need them in my life.

spectrum makeup brushes

Seriously, not only are these the best looking makeup brushes I have ever owned they are also the softest and give the best application. It is pretty much like using magic to apply your face.

A05 Blush Crush
B01 In The Buff
A10 Feeling Fancy
A13 Short N Sweet
A15 Get Your Pout Out

spectrum brushes
(L-R Blush Crush, In the Buff, Feeling Fancy)

The blush brush is so soft and I honestly cant stop rubbing it on my face. I also made my mum try it so she could experience the magic and she doesn't even wear makeup. It picks up the perfect amount of product and makes me feel like a princess. Its perfect for both blush and highlighter

I am so in love with the buffer brush. It is definitely my favourite. It has totally replaced my Real Techniques expert face brush as my main brush for applying my foundation. Its super soft and glides over my face blending my foundation to perfection unlike the RT which used to leave brush strokes. It was pretty hard having to cover the beauty in foundation though.

I would highly recommend these brushes. They are amazing quality with zero shedding and will look beautiful on your dressing table. You can get sets or individuals as well as sponges and makeup bags. Delivery is beyond fast and the company are super lovely on Twitter. They even have a new utterly gorgeous marble range out perfect for bloggers.

Which brushes do you want?

Scar Tissue Book Tour

17 April 2016

I'm a huge fan of suspense books so I was excited to review Scar Tissue* by M.C Domovitch which is a Romantic suspense book.

Scar tissue M C domovitch

"When successful model Ciara Kelly wakes up in hospital, remembering nothing of the weeks she has been missing, her only clues are the ugly words carved into her skin. According to the police she was a victim of the Cutter, a serial killer who has already murdered three women. For her protection the police and her doctors give a press conference, announcing that because her amnesia is organically caused, her memory loss is permanent. But, whether her memory returns or not is anybody’s guess.
Overnight, Ciara’s glamorous life is gone. Her scars have killed both her modelling career and her relationship with her rich boyfriend. With nothing to keep her in New York, she returns to her home town of Seattle, moves in with her sister and goes about building a new life. But when her sister lets it slip that Ciara’s memory is returning, the killer comes after her again. If Ciara is to stay alive, she must keep one step ahead of the Cutter."

I really enjoyed this book and read it in about 3 days as I struggled to put it down. Ciara has no idea who abducted and tortured her so can't trust anyone. She can't even remember what she went through she just knows she has scars. Unfortunately the killer comes after her again and it's a fight for survival. It's tense and keeps you interested wondering if the killer will catch up with her and trying to decipher who she can trust

I had an inkling as to who the killer was but I kept doubting myself and second guessing which was great because I hate knowing without a doubt who it is all the way through.

There is also a romance storyline which I did actually enjoy even though I'm not normally a romance novel fan. It added to the story and I got attached to the characters and invested in their lives.

Unfortunately there was also a tear jerker moment and I may have shed a tear or two. This book really does have the whole range of emotions.

If you are into crime/suspense books then I would definitely recommend this

Lily Flame Lust List

13 April 2016

As you know I have recently moved house. Unfortunately the previous tenant was a heavy smoker. Seriously, we had to bleach the walls to remove some of the nicotine staining before we could start decorating. Even though my house is now fully decorated and has been aired there is still a slight smoke undertone that I just cant seem to shake. So am now lusting after all the scented candles to try and make my house smell delicious and less gross.

A friend on twitter recommended Lily-Flame to me and now I think I may be in love. How gorgeous are these tins? The scents all sound amazing and I just can't decide which one(s) to order. The company also sound incredible with such lovely people behind it.

lily flame candles

Powder Puff - How cute is this tin. Seriously I want it for the sole reason of how adorable it is. Described as Light, soft and talcy and Super Girly. It sounds magical and I want my house to smell all cute and girly.

Fairy Dust Who doesn't need some fairy dust in their life? Described as Powdery, Warm, Sparkly and Magical. It's safe to say this needs to be in my house ASAP

Coconut Grove I love coconut. It is one of my fave scents (now that I gotten past my dislike of the smell after a very messy night drinking Malibu and an absolutely horrific hangover). It just reminds me of holidays, lounging on the beach in the sun. Sun cream, ice cream and all the heat.

Parma Violets These were my absolute favourite sweets and still rank pretty high. Me and my best friend used to sneak them in lessons at school and I need them in candle form.

Mango Fandango I'm a huge fan of tropical scents and mango is up there with my top faves. I want my house to smell fruity and delicious.

Which candles take your fancy?

Have you tried any of the Lily-flame candles?

Fudge Urban Hair Care

11 April 2016

I'm quite lazy when it comes to my hair but I am steadily becoming addicted to hair products that require little effort and smell amazing. I have heard so many good things about Fudge Urban and everyone raves about how delicious they smell.

Fudge urban

Feel the heat protection spray*
This heat protection spray offers protection up to 235°C which is the highest protection I've seen. Just spray it all over and ta-da beautifully smelling protected hair. I use this before using my hair dryer every time. However I prefer the batiste heat and shine spray for heat protection on dry hair for the sole reason that it makes my hair so unbelievably soft, shiny and swishy.

Crisp Pear & sweet vanilla texture spray*
I'm still not sure how I feel about this. It smells edible and gives my hair that sexy just got out of bed look (except when I get out of bed my hair is stuck everywhere). The only downside I have with this is that it makes my hair crispy. I absolutely love the texture this gives my hair so I may be able to look past the crispiness.

Iced coconut cocktail hair spray*
This smells like being on holiday somewhere warm with a cocktail on the beach. When I first sprayed this on my hair I was a little bit disappointed because it was so sticky. Even my hands felt sticky. However it is a super impressive hairspray. I gave it a pretty rigorous test by playing a full, very hot, very sweaty game of wheelchair basketball and by the end I didn't have a hair out of place. Ponytail was still looking fierce. Also the stickiness did go after a few mins and it brushed out okay so I am definitely converted as it really does hold your hair.

Iced tropical cocktail miracle ends*
I am in love with this. The packaging is just gorgeous, it smells amazing and it makes my hair soooo soft I feel like a mermaid. I rub it through my damp hair after showering before I attempt to dry it and it works its magic. Hair is super soft and frizz free and smells delicious. What more could you want?

You may have noticed that I constantly mentioned how gorgeous these products smell. This is seriously one of their biggest selling points. Also all their packaging is gorgeous and these products look great on my shelf.

Have you tried Fudge Urban? What are your thoughts?

Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask

9 April 2016

A while ago I tweeted about how bad my skin was and Sanctuary Spa kindly sent me one of their masks to try and clear it up and cheer me up from my crappy week. They are such a lovely company.

I also recently got sent another tube to review which is now making its way to Sarah from Sarah in Wonderland (well it will be when I remember to actually post it). If you haven't already you need to go check out her blog. Its amazing and she's a babe.

Sanctuary Spa 5 min thermal mask

"This self-heating mask uses warmth to help open up pores so charcoal & kaolin clay can help draw out impurities from deep within the skin. Containing soothing & calming myrrh essential oils, the mask helps to remove excess oil to leave skin feeling purified, cleansed & silky-soft" - Sanctuary Spa

The Sanctuary Spa 5 Min Thermal Detox Mask* (currently on offer in boots) feels so magical when you apply it. I've tried thermal masks before but this one has the wow factor. It is so warm when you apply it. Seriously I wanted to just keep applying it for the feeling. It smells a bit like play-doh but in a good nostalgic for your childhood kinda way. I love it anyway.

I have super dry skin and this mask left my face feeling super soft and nice and moisturised. I also massively love the fact that you only need to leave it on for 5 mins so you don't have to set aside a lot of time for a quick pamper. In fact I've chucked this on whilst having my morning coffee before getting ready

Also I have to tell you about the Sanctuary Spa Hot sugar scrub. It is hands down my favourite body scrub in the history of body scrubs. I seriously could not love a scrub more (full review here). You need this scrub in your life. That is all

Do you love Sanctuary Spa?

A Night At The Movies

7 April 2016

I was recently contacted and asked if I wanted to host my own "Night at the Movies*". As a huge film watcher and DVD hoarder this could not have been more up my street. Movie nights in are perfect for spending quality time with friends and family and are a great way for those of us with chronic illnesses to to socialise. Cwtch up on the sofa with a blanket, delicious food, good company and a film. Heaven.

A night at the movies

I was kindly sent Hotel Transylvania 2* (Review here) for my movie night as well as the most delicious popcorn* ever which I struggled to share and some retro sweets*. Then for extra snacks* (not pictured) we had strawberries & nutella because you obviously need 1 of your 5 a day. Balanced diet and all that. Also a movie night is not complete without chilli heatwave doritos and salsa. We also had cushions everywhere and fluffy blankets for optimal comfort.

The movie night was a huge hit and I was able to invite my mum, dad and little brother over to my new house to cwtch up on the sofa and spend some quality time together which didn't involve building furniture. We stuffed our faces and had a good laugh. I highly recommend hosting your own movie night.

The Night at the movies campaign was set up to show that generations can stay in contact and socialise. I think it's such a good idea. My brother and I always used to watch movies with my Grandma when she couldn't get out much and they are some of my favourite memories of her.

"Gracewell are a care home provider, and believe that every single one of their residents – and families – have individual needs for both their level of care and for the life they want to live. Movie nights are a regular event at one of their many care homes where Gracewell actively encourage residents’ families to attend."

Gracewell sound like an amazing healthcare provider and their facilities and attitude towards providing personalised care look even better. My nearest community is Bournville but if you think you know someone who would benefit from their facilities you can find the nearest one to you here.

Will you be hosting your own movie night?

Thoughts I Had When Moving Out

5 April 2016

I'm back. Sorry for disappearing but as some of you may know I have recently moved out. I now live in a fully wheelchair accessible bungalow with zero steps and oh my god it is magical. No more sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room. No more butt shuffling around because my wheelchair doesn't fit. It's pretty much heaven, well it is now that I'm finally settled and have furniture. Life without a sofa and no wifi was pretty dark.

So my first post back is on some of the things that ran through my head whilst attempting to move out which is hella stressful btw.

I'm sooo excited

Is this really happening?

Wait, who's going to protect me from the spiders?

Dammit I'll have to make my own cups of tea

Choosing paint colours is impossible

No dad these are not all the same colours, they are very different shades of grey

Will my skin ever be paint free again?

Shit I got paint on the carpet

Do I really own this much crap?

Oh I forgot I had this

I thought I lost this 10 billion years ago

I have wayy too many candles

I need more candles

Curtains aren't really an essential - cushions definitely are

Why is furniture so expensive?

Please give me furniture

Do I really need an oven?

Sorry I have no sofa you'll have to sit on a garden chair or the floor (someone filling in paperwork actually sat on the floor)

Disabled perks - At least I have a chair

Is it really necessary for sofas to cost so damn much?

Also am I even going to get that into my house (the answer is no - you will have to take out your living room window)

Why are TV licenses a thing?

Oh my god I actually get the TV remote to myself. What should I watch

How much are my bills?

Do I even have that much money coming in?

I dont really need heating, that's what onesies were invented for right?

When is bin day? Will I ever remember?

How do I create so much washing up?

I am probably going to die unpacking - this will actually be the end of me

How did people move house before bags for life were a thing. What did you pack all your crap in

Wow I have a lot of shoes

Oh my god I can fill all of the cupboards. They're ALL MINE

Why the hell do kettles cost so much money

I hope my dad realises he is coming round to empty my bins

How the hell do you work the shower?

I love my house

I am honestly so grateful that I was able to get a place that makes life with a crappy body that tiny bit easier. I am also super grateful for my beyond lovely 90yr old neighbour who brings me cake all the time. I may gain weight but she's just so sweet.

Here's hoping I can get back into some sort of schedule now I have my own space

Beth...x
