Super Simple Spring Makeup Look

27 April 2017

So once again I have been crap at posting regularly. I would promise that I'll get my shit together but lets be honest it hasn't happened so far. Anyway I thought I would do a post about my fave makeup for spring. It was supposed to have a picture of the finished look on my face buuut that hasn't happened. I've barely been at home, my skin is an absolute state, my hair needs washing and I'm too tired and sore to do the makeup look now. Plus my hands are so bad at the moment I am dropping everything so putting a mascara wand near my eye probably isn't the safest. Soo here's the makeup that I am loving for spring. It's super simple and I love it. Just imagine how fabulous my face looks with this on.

Spring Makeup Look
I always start with my Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer at the moment. Anything to try and inject some hydration into my scales. Then I've been using the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in Rose Ivory and mixing it with The Body Shop Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops because is it even possible to get the right shade of foundation? I love the anti-fatigue effect because me and sleep are not the best of friends. Then I try and cover my designer bags with the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory. I used to love this but I'm finding it a bit cakey at the moment so let me know any recommendations.

I don't tend to use powder all over my face because whatever powder I try it clings to my scales. However I do use the Rosie For Autograph Translucent Powder to set my eye area. It stops my concealer creasing and it it perfect for my slightly oily eyelids if I'm wearing liquid liner. For bronzer I am loving the Smashbox Bronze Lights in Warm Matte. It warms my complexion up beautifully without being too heavy. The only blush I ever seem to use is the Milani Rose Powder Blush in 04 Bella Rosa. I was so sad when I used it so much the rose disappeared. It was so pretty. Now onto my favourite product at the moment. My best friend from uni actually recommended this to me and I am in love. It's the Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid Highlighter in Light/Iridescent and it is such a gorgeous liquid highlighter. I kept skipping highlighter because once again powder ones were clinging to my scales but this just glides on beautifully. You need the tiniest amount. It blends like a dream, is super buildable and the glow is gorgeous.

Spring Makeup Look

I always use the Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Brown for my brows. I'm blessed with full brows so I don't need anything more. For my spring look I decided to go super neutral on the eyes and just let the lashes do the talking. Yes you heard that right, I skipped my usual winged liner. I first did a coat of my ride or die macara, Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara. Then I applied my fave brand of lashes. I went for the Nouveau Strip Lashes// Glamour 1* because if there's no winged liner then why not go for super elegant, glam lashes. I felt a bit naked without my wings but these lashes made my eyes look and feel so pretty that there was no need for the liner (I will try and get a picture when I'm feeling less crappy).

Moving on to the final part. Choosing Lip colours was so hard. As you know I have quite a large collection to choose from. I settled on offering you 3 different choices. I think my fave out of the 3 has to be the Dose of Colors Lipgloss in Rose. This is such a beautiful muted pink with slight grey undertones, the perfect nude lip for spring. It is also the comfiest thing I have ever worn on my lips. It isn't sticky at all and just glides on. If you want a matte dusty rose perfect for spring then Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina is the one for you. However, if you want to go all out bright then you need Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in bella, a stunning blue toned pink. Perfect for the sunnier spring weather that has disappeared.
