Will of Iron Triathlon

22 February 2015

With my health and fitness levels the way they are a triathlon is not something you expect to see me talking about but when I saw Beth tweeting that she needed help to promote an amazing charity I jumped at the chance to help.

The Willow Foundation is the only national charity that provides amazing days for seriously ill young adults aged 16-40. This charity gives them something to look forward to, a normal day, a day to make memories with their families or friends. In the UK there are 100,000 people whose life could be made a little bit better by experiencing one of these special days. This is such an amazing and worthwhile cause and when your seriously ill the generosity of these people means the world.

So onto the Triathlon bit. The Will of Iron Triathlon is happening in order to raise some money to carry on spreading joy. What do you need to do? Well it isn't for the faint hearted. You can do a

Full Ironman - 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run
Half Ironman -1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13.1 mile run.

Even better news is you can do this on your own, split it up in a group of as many people as you like, do it outside or do it in the gym, whichever way you prefer its totally up to you. The only rule is it needs to be completed over 7 consecutive days. Will or Iron Week is 2nd-8th May and costs £25 to register. Plenty of time to up your fitness game and as part of Team Willow you will be supported every step of the way.

You can check them out on facebook or Twitter and if this sounds like something you would be interested in doing then click the picture below to sign up. And if like me your health or fitness is just not up to this standard then please consider spreading the word or donating. If you want to get on board with spreading the word you can contact Beth for more information.

Good luck to anyone who's doing it
